Power List 2020

The one takeaway from 2020 and the global crisis engendered by COVID-19 is the world’s willingness to band together to support each other and the community at large. In India, hospitality groups have rallied around the local communities and the country by opening their doors to healthcare workers and Indians needing to be quarantined; their kitchens to feed guests who were either isolated in their hotels or stuck there because of the lockdown; and reach out to the vulnerable sections of society, the migrants and those working on the frontlines. Hotelier India’s Power List 2020 recognises the contribution made by some of India’s best hotel groups in fighting this crisis. We go a step further to salute the work done by the frontline heroes from these hospitality groups, who toiled relentlessly behind-the-scenes to serve their guests; keep the hotels that hosted quarantined guests, doctors and healthcare workers, functioning; distribute food packets to the underprivileged and the needy; and in some cases, even go beyond the call of duty to help people. The COVID crisis has been unparalleled, but so has the Indian hospitality industry’s humane response to it.
