Kannampilly has set up all hotels with eco-friendly resources, so that only the bare mimimum that is required is consumed. From the air-conditoning plant to paper, everything at the hotels is designed to be eco-friendly.

“The three Positions in the hotel sector were Professionalism, Hospitality and Cuisine. All these were occupied in the Indian Hotel Sector by existing hotel chains. I decided to create the fourth position – which was – Environmentally Sensitive Certified Hotels/ Ecotels in 1996, and then launched the Fern Brand of Hotels and Resorts in 2009 which is today a leading Environmentally Sensitive Group.
“The company/ brand Fern been developed and nurtured by me – with a dedicated team of professionals, some of whom have worked and grown along with me over the years and it was no cake walk. It did surprise me when so many new owners were willing to accept our brand.
“I strongly practise the principle of One Minute Management and ensure that the standard operating procedures that are documented in a manual formulated by us are followed in every property. And then there cannot be a loss of quality. There are quality audits on a regular basis. We ensure that all our team members are adequately trained to meet the demands of the jobs they have to perform.
