Born into an illustrious family of reputed hoteliers of Kolkata, Pooja Ray’s formative years were spent in Kolkata, Dehradun and London.
After getting married to renowned hotelier Dilip Ray, owner and Chairman of the Mayfair Group, she preferred to contribute to the hotels’ different departments, with her keen eye for details and her natural flair for understanding customer priorities and functional aesthetics.
In her new role as the Managing Director of the Mayfair Group, apart from inculcating a new work ethos, she specially heads the sales and marketing department, where her main focus to overcome the post Covid downtrend by encouraging safe and healthy staycations, flexible sales pitch, an aggressive social media platform etc, has seen excellent results.
