Unox has taken its first step in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in India. Partnering with Learn for Life, an NGO dedicated to empowering children and youth from low socioeconomic backgrounds, Unox has embarked on a journey to equip young minds with skills, education, and sustainable livelihood opportunities.

Hands-on learning at the UNOX Experience Centre

The initiative, “Baking a Better Tomorrow,” began with a workshop on October 14 at the UNOX Experience Centre in Gurgaon. Thirty students from NGOs across Delhi, associated with Learn for Life, got hands-on exposure to professional baking using Unox’s cutting-edge technologies.

Under the guidance of Unox chefs, participants engaged with modern equipment, gaining practical skills and confidence to prepare for careers in the food and hospitality industry.

Turning equipment into opportunity

“On World Food Day, our focus was simple: convert access to equipment into access to opportunity,” said Vikram Goel, Regional Director, Unox India & SEA. “By teaching practical skills on technology used by industry professionals, we aim to help young people imagine and prepare for careers in modern kitchens.”

A gesture recognized by Italian diplomacy

The workshop was honoured by Davide Colombo, Deputy Head of the Economic and Innovation Department, Embassy of Italy, New Delhi, who attended as Chief Guest. “It is inspiring to witness an Italian company in India combine innovation and education to empower youth,” said Colombo. “This initiative shows how technology and skill development together can create meaningful opportunities for future generations.”

Empowerment over handouts

Michael and Nicole, Programme Leads at Learn for Life, emphasized the impact: “This partnership is not about handouts but about empowerment. For our participants, this workshop was a chance to learn, create, and take their first step towards sustainable futures in the baking and hospitality industry.”
