As part of Hilton’s global Travel with Purpose (TWP) Week, DoubleTree by Hilton Bengaluru Whitefield, in partnership with Kalyani Developers, served as the Hospitality Partner for the Walkathon – Abilities Recruitment March at Kalyani Tech Park. The event celebrated inclusivity, accessibility, and the empowerment of specially-abled individuals, reinforcing Hilton’s commitment to creating a more equitable and compassionate world.
Held under the theme “Walk for Inclusion and Empowerment of Specially–Abled Associates,” the walkathon drew overwhelming participation from industry leaders, Rotary clubs, NGOs, and supporters of diversity and inclusion.
Highlights of the Morning
The Walkathon offered a thoughtfully curated programme:
- Symbolic Walk for Inclusion & Empowerment spotlighting specially-abled talent
- Networking and community stalls fostering collaborations for inclusive hiring and support
- Immersive ‘Walk in My Shoes’ experience, allowing participants to empathize with diverse abilities
- Special appearances by star runners, dignitaries, and Dhanush Manjunath, Guinness World Record holder and Brand Ambassador, on his cycling mission from India to the UK
- Presence of Sri Das Suryavanshi, veteran disability rights activist, known for pioneering the first Kannada Braille Calendar, making the Kannada Braille Bible accessible, and establishing Bidar’s first school for the blind
Following the walk, participants enjoyed an inclusive breakfast curated by DoubleTree by Hilton Bengaluru Whitefield, exemplifying Hilton’s signature hospitality and culture of care.

The initiative was successfully executed with the collaborative efforts of Rotary Bangalore IT Corridor, Rotary Bangalore Abilities, and a network of community partners, all united to build a more inclusive world.
