Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has significantly expanded its portfolio by adding 100 new locations in FY2025—comprising 74 hotel signings and 26 openings. This takes IHCL’s overall portfolio to 380 hotels across various brands and categories.
Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development, IHCL, shared: “IHCL has achieved a record 74 signings this fiscal, with over 95% of them being capital-light. This has led to an industry-leading pipeline of 137 hotels. Our strong brand presence across market segments, combined with sustained demand, has enabled this growth.”
She added that the growth is aligned with the company’s ‘Accelerate 2030’ strategy, with a significant share of signings coming from the Gateway and Ginger brands—highlighting the rapid expansion of India’s upscale and midscale hotel segments.
International expansion in the Middle East
In line with its global ambitions, IHCL also entered new international markets with the Taj brand, foraying into Bahrain and Ras Al Khaimah. This move adds over 800 keys to its Middle East presence.

Hotel openings across key cities and leisure hubs
Deepika Rao, Executive Vice President – Hotel Openings & New Businesses, IHCL, said: “In FY25, we opened 26 new hotels, led by Ginger, which added 9 properties across diverse markets including Nagpur, Coimbatore, Jamshedpur, Srinagar, Udaipur, Diu, and the state capitals of Delhi and Goa.”
IHCL also expanded into spiritual and leisure destinations, opening SeleQtions and Gateway hotels in Diu and a Taj resort in Puri. Strategic investments included a 111-key Taj hotel at Cochin International Airport, and new Taj properties in Dehradun and Patna. These openings created over 2,500 direct jobs, reinforcing IHCL’s contribution to local economies and livelihoods.
On track for 700 hotels by 2030
With a clear roadmap under its ‘Accelerate 2030’ strategy, IHCL is well poised to achieve its goal of building a 700-hotel portfolio, strengthening its leadership in India’s hospitality landscape.
