Neuma is turning up the heat this season with a two-day pop-up that’s set to flip your idea of Middle Eastern cuisine on its head. Forget the usual suspects of hummus and kebabs—‘What’s Poppin with Chef Mohib Farooqui’ brings you a fresh take on Levantine flavours, served with a side of innovation.

On September 20th and 21st, in collaboration with Zomato Dining Experience, Chef Mohib is bringing his world-class expertise and creative flair to Neuma. An alum of Le Cordon Bleu Sydney and a true culinary globetrotter, Chef Mohib has worked with Michelin-starred chefs and helmed kitchens across Australia, Denmark, and India. With over 12 years of experience, including stints at top restaurants like Urbane and Restaurant Relae, and a Michelin-starred menu at Inddee in Bangkok, his dishes are a celebration of tradition, reimagined for modern palates.

With this pop-up, one gets a chance to experience Chef Mohib’s culinary journey across the Levant—think Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and beyond—meeting global techniques to create dishes that are as bold and vibrant as the cultures they represent. It’s a feast that promises to transport you straight to the bustling markets of the Middle East, all while seated in the heart of Colaba.

On the menu? Expect a lineup that plays with tradition and adds a twist: cool cucumber meets liquid vegetables, pumpkin gets a hit of habanero, and the rich taste of Australian lamb is elevated with classic Levantine baharat spices. If you have vegetarian preferences, dishes like soybeans with sesame and pomegranate or bell pepper and feta salad are here to impress. And for those with a sweet tooth? The Medjool date and key lime dessert is a perfect finale.

“This pop-up is my way of sharing the soul of Levantine cuisine with Mumbai’s vibrant food scene,” says Chef Mohib Farooqui. “Each dish tells a story—of history, culture, and flavour—and I can’t wait for guests to experience our innovation through every bite.”
