Over 2,500 vegetarian dishes served at this wedding of the century!

And an entire floor of the Jio World Convention Centre dedicated to it!

Park Balluchi Express announces its first QSR outlet in Gurgaon

It was what could be easily called one of the most extravagant weddings of the century.

After a host of lavish pre-wedding ceremonies, Anant Ambani, son of industrialist couple Mukesh and Nita Ambani, tied the knot with Radhika Merchant, daughter of Viren and Shaila Merchant. And the three-day-long wedding extravaganza spelled grandeur and luxury at their best, with the country’s A-listers and international stars, all coming together to partake in the revelry.

The highlight of the wedding was, of course, the food, and an entire floor of the Jio World Convention Centre – the charming venue – was dedicated to it. According to an Instagram video on Curly Tales, a whopping “over 2,500 dishes, which were pure vegetarian from all over India and global flavours,” were served.

“They literally brought the Banaras alive with traditional performances and Nita Ambani’s self-picked Chaats,” said the video, which gave us a peek into the wonderland of wedding delicacies that were specially curated by Nita Ambani herself.

While special stalls for Banarasi paan, Kashmiri style treats, Indonesian chefs preparing coconut-based dishes were some of the major draws, there were stalls from across the country – Gujarat, Punjab, Dakshin, Varanasi, Ganga ghats – featuring special and authentic creations of their respective regions.

Top chefs like Virgilio Martínez and Avinash Martin were specially invited to create their magic. Reportedly, Virgolio’s menu served dishes like cashew rolls, mountain chimichurri, smoked tomato, extreme altitude seeds, fresh cheese, Amazonian cassava textures, coconut milk, aji limo with saffron, and dates and lentil triangles with pistachio tiger’s milk; Avinash Martin served traditional Goan and Portuguese dishes like glazed king oyster mushroom xacuti, tender coconut carpaccio, jeeresal pancake, and asparagus and pine nut caldin.

In a heart-warming moment that captured the essence of family and long-standing traditions. Shanteri Nayak, the owner of the iconic Cafe Mysore in Matunga, Mumbai, received a special welcome from the Ambani family, in a video that went viral.
