Here is an excerpt from our in-depth interaction with Aditya Sanghi, Co-founder and CEO.
- Can you give us some insights about Hotelogix and the solutions it offers?
We are a globally leading cloud-based hospitality technology solutions provider. Our target audiences are hotels in mid-sized segments. Hence, we focus on their technological requirements with all our resources.
We offer the industry-first multi-property management system, hotel PMS, mobile PMS App and several other solutions for independent and hotel groups. We also provide channel manager and revenue management solutions through AxisRooms, our distribution brand. Moreover, we integrate with a host of third-party solutions providers to allow hotels to pick and choose solutions. In short, we technologically enable hotels of sizes and segments to ensure 360-degree operations across departments.
Born on the cloud, our product has evolved to become agile, robust, scalable, and secure. We enjoy the trust of 5000+ hotels in 100+ countries, including South Asia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, LATAM, Europe and North America. We have recently achieved this exceptional feat of implementing the most extensive multi-property deployment of 50000+ rooms across 500+ properties under a single group.
- What is the rate of technological adoption in India? How has the market been for Hotelogix?
Before answering the first part of the question, I would like to say that we were ahead of time when we started in 2008. Back then, in India, the concept of the cloud was entirely new, and it was a challenge for us to sell our product on the home front. We did good business in developed markets across Europe and North America. It helped our products evolve and mature to become what they are today. Powered by the cloud and our relentless efforts, we have created a well-defined roadmap for the industry – that the cloud is the only way for a hotel’s overall growth.
Taking a cue from industries that have seen success with the cloud, enterprises across domains have also started leaning on the cloud. In India, public cloud adoption will grow, and according to NASSCOM, 53% of enterprises have increased their cloud adoption pace since 2021. The same goes for the hotel industry, too. They are investing more in cloud technology to automate operations, save costs, exceed guest expectations, and drive their brands’ overall growth.
We have several leading home-grown groups and independent brands that have seen numerous business benefits with us while witnessing instant and assured ROI. We are seeing a 50% year-on-year rise in our client base in India.
- How does Hotelogix customise its solutions for the varying needs and requirements of the hotel?
Customisation per the client’s requirement is crucial, and the cloud helps technology providers like us achieve that with total efficiency. We have architected our Hotel Property Management System with the premise that even a four-room Bnb, a 1000-room business hotel, a hotel group, an apart-hotel, a hostel, a boutique hotel etc., can use it based on their unique requirements. Such a flexible architecture is critical to address varied workflows in different formats of hospitality businesses. Moreover, apart from their workflows, our Hotel PMS takes care of government-prescribed regulatory compliances and tax calculations across multiple countries. We also have multi-lingual support with nine languages internationally.

- What are some of the new research and developments being carried out by the company?
First, At Hotelogix, we believe in the power of data. So, considering this, our future product products are aligned with this fundamental – harnessing data to help our hotel partners enhance guest experience and business outcomes.
Our second focus area is mobility, which has dramatically impacted the way hotels are now looking at executing various operations. Keeping this in mind, we are working towards making things as mobile-friendly as possible. Our idea is to offer hotels much-needed mobility in every aspect – from check-in and check-out to other critical areas of guest service and operations.
Thirdly, we are also sure that mid-market hotels are ready to embrace more sophisticated technology than before. So, we are dedicated to creating a suitable solution to serve their needs at affordable costs and through viable adoption.
- What are your plans and outlook for 2023?
Let’s start by acknowledging this fact – the next couple of years will be the best years for any technology provider in the hospitality industry. We are all set and geared up for the next phase of our rapid growth. We plan to double our customer base by increasing and consolidating our local presence in international markets.
The hospitality industry in India has managed to weather the Covid storm and has overcome it quite quickly. It has now become a very dynamic industry than it was ever before. During the immediate post-crisis business, hotels in India promptly learnt how to derive value from the domestic market by enhancing hygiene levels and ensuring guest satisfaction with innovative packaging. Now, this will be a permanent change. Work from anywhere has opened up a completely new market as people are traveling much more than before. The best part is that they will now apply the same learning of the deriving value from the increasing international travel.
Regarding our plans, we have a full-stack of solutions, thanks to our impressive product line-up from Hotelogix and our distribution products brand, AxisRooms. This positions us appropriately and gives us an upper hand to offer hotels the right solution in line with the changing market dynamics post-Covid.
