Masque wins Art of Hospitality Award 2026 at Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants

Mumbai’s modern Indian pioneer recognised for redefining hospitality through innovation, hyperlocal sourcing and immersive dining experiences.

Masque has been awarded the Art of Hospitality Award 2026, a prestigious pre-announced honour in the lead-up to Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants, sponsored by S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna.

The award recognises the restaurant that has delivered the most outstanding hospitality experience across Asia over the past 18 months, as voted by more than 350 members of the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants Academy.

A Decade of Vision and Culinary Innovation

Founded in 2016 by Aditi Dugar, Masque is a pioneer of modern Indian gastronomy, known for its 10-course tasting menus built around seasonal, locally sourced ingredients.

Dugar said the award reaffirms the team’s commitment to hospitality defined by care, generosity and humility.

Rooted in India, Reimagined for the World

Led by head chef Varun Totlani, Masque sources hyperlocal ingredients from across India, reimagining them through modern techniques.

Its R&D space, Masque Lab, bridges traditional Indian cooking with global influences and doubles as a 14-seat private dining experience. From inventive tasting menus to experimental, season-led cocktails, the restaurant continues to redefine contemporary Indian cuisine.

Hospitality as an Ecosystem

A spokesperson for Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants noted that Masque’s win celebrates more than exceptional service — it recognises the complete ecosystem of hospitality the restaurant has built around modern Indian gastronomy.

Masque now joins an esteemed roster of previous Art of Hospitality Award winners, including Toyo Eatery, Nusara by chef Thitid ‘Ton’ Tassanakajohn, and Zén by chef Björn Frantzén.
