Kerala Tourism has emerged as the most visited state tourism website in India for the 2024–25 financial year, surpassing the central government’s ‘Incredible India’ portal, which came in second. The rankings, released by global analytics platform Similarweb, highlight Kerala Tourism’s strong digital presence and growing appeal among domestic and international travellers.

Global Recognition for Digital Excellence

On the international stage, keralatourism.org secured the second spot globally among travel and tourism websites. In the tourism industry category, it also ranked second—only behind Thailand Tourism, which topped all three global lists. Vietnam, Incredible India, and Indonesia took the third, fourth, and fifth spots respectively.

Unprecedented Web Traffic and Engagement

According to Google Analytics, the Kerala Tourism website attracted six million users who made 7.9 million visits, viewing more than 15 million pages in total during 2024–25. Of these, 5.8 million users arrived through search, while over one million visitors typed the URL directly, and nearly one million accessed the site via ads. Visitors came from around 200 countries, reflecting the platform’s global appeal.

A Digital-First Approach to Tourism

Tourism and Public Works Minister P.A. Mohamed Riyas highlighted that the website’s success reflects Kerala’s growing stature as a global tourism destination. “Such is our acceptance among tourists,” he said. “Recognizing the power of digital platforms in tourism development, Kerala Tourism is rolling out innovative campaigns and user-focused experiences to align with the evolving preferences of modern travellers.”

A Rich, Multilingual, and User-Friendly Platform

The website boasts over 100,000 pages, featuring high-resolution images, engaging videos, and an aesthetically designed layout. It offers a wide range of content including tour packages, heli-tourism, accommodation options, yoga, wedding destinations, festival and Theyyam calendars, and more. A live webcast, travel planner, and e-newsletter further enhance the user experience.

Available in more than 20 languages, the site serves as a comprehensive digital guide to Kerala’s diverse attractions and cultural richness. It is designed and maintained by Invis Private Limited, the official IT partner of Kerala Tourism.

Consistent Growth Year on Year

Building on its strong momentum, the Kerala Tourism website had already been recognised as one of the top 10 tourism websites in the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions in the previous financial year (2023–24), when it recorded nearly 10 million visitors and over 20 million page views.
