Want to escape from the hustle-bustle of city life? Head to this charming Marriott property, nestled peacefully in the picturesque hills of the strawberry capital of India – Mahabaleshwar.
A NATURE LOVER’S PARADISE
Our five-hour drive from Mumbai to this quaint hill station on the scenic Sahyadri ranges was a little exhausting but one sight of our destination was enough to soothe our tired nerves.
The short buggy ride from the lobby to our villa gave us a quick glimpse of the sprawling property, surrounded by nature in all its glory. The main hotel, designed somewhat like a fortress, is dotted with charming valley-facing villas.
And the nip in the air is a welcome change from the humid city weather. As we settle comfortably in our lavish pool villa, which overlooks the verdant valley and tree-filled hills, we can’t help but wonder at how beautiful the planet is.
ALLURING VILLAS
Our spacious and elegantly done up villa at the far end of the property is a hideaway complete with its own private balcony, a plunge pool, generous living area, comfortable bedroom and a huge bathroom. And the décor is a beautiful blend of earthy, contemporary and luxe tones. Our villa is all set to woo us to just stay indoors, and do nothing but soak in nature’s abundance.

RICH AND LUSH
Boasting of 39 spacious guest rooms with private balconies and 49 luxurious villas, the USP of the hotel is clearly its location and the panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, says General Manager Rahul Janve, who meets us over lunch at the hotel’s restaurant The Berry Library. “Whichever side of the property you are in, you’re greeted by a fantastic view – hills, valleys, waterfalls, mist. The hotel holds one of the largest event venues in the city, making it the ideal address for weddings, intimate parties and social gatherings,” informs Janve.

FOOD, SO GOOD
Delivering delectable dining experiences, Courtyard by Marriott Mahabaleshwar hosts four outlets – the Berry Library, an all-day dining venue that offers local and international flavours; Sigri, the Indian fine-dining restaurant, an ode to Nawabi cuisine; Quarter Deck, perfect for guests to enjoy sunset views with fresh cocktails and light bites; and finally Cloud Café, a casual café located on the roof-top under the open skies, that serves delicious snacks and specialty coffees.

During our stay, we feasted heartily on Continental, pan-Asian, Indian and some authentic Maharashtrian thali, each fare pleasing both our palate and senses. What particularly left a mark was the thali, finger-licking and sumptuous.
MORE TO EXPLORE
The other attractions at the hotel are 17,176 sq feet of experiential event and meeting spaces both indoors and outdoors, while the recreation facilities include PLAY, a dedicated space for kids, a fitness centre and an infinity pool with temperature-controlled jacuzzi.
If you’re looking to pamper your senses some more, head to the Nilaya Spa for a total rejuvenation session. Or simply stroll through the hotel’s lush, landscaped lawns.

WHILE YOU’RE THERE...
And in case there’s a chance you are bored, a treasure trove of experiences await you just few minutes from the hotel. While luscious strawberry farms abound the place, busy market areas lure you with their local produce – fresh and organic. And of course, if you’re in mood for some more of nature’s marvels, there’s the sunset point, Lingmala waterfall and Venna Lake, each more beautiful and breath-taking.
If location is everything, this property takes the crown for being Mahabaleshwar’s most spectacularly located hotel.
Courtyard by Marriott Mahabaleshwar is an alluring haven that intricately balances luxury with serenity to offer an experience that transcends the ordinary.
