Bengaluru’s dining scene is no stranger to Pan-Asian concepts. But few new openings arrive with the assured elegance of YAZU. Making its city debut after successful stints in Mumbai, Goa, Indore and Chandigarh, YAZU positions itself not merely as a restaurant, but as a supper club designed for those who value atmosphere as much as flavour. It is a space meant for unhurried lunches, fluid conversations, and evenings that unfold effortlessly into the night.

Designed to impress, without trying too hard
Designed by Sumessh Menon, YAZU’s open terrace bar is the undeniable focal point. The airy, immersive space blurs the line between indoors and outdoors, allowing Bengaluru’s evening breeze to become part of the experience.
The design language draws from Asian aesthetics without leaning into excess. Handcrafted wooden rafters, sculptural installations and a tranquil water feature create a sense of calm and depth, while curated lighting and art add visual drama. The result is refined yet relaxed—naturally attracting entrepreneurs, creatives, and well-travelled diners seeking understated luxury rather than spectacle.
A menu that balances craft and comfort
The food is where YAZU firmly establishes its credibility. The Pan-Asian menu spans Japanese, Thai, Korean, Chinese and Southeast Asian influences, but feels thoughtfully edited rather than encyclopaedic. Sushi and sashimi arrive pristine, with hand-rolled nigiri and generous sharing platters that emphasise freshness and technique.

Robata-grilled dishes stand out, particularly the miso-glazed Black Cod and Hokkaido scallops—rich, balanced and confidently executed. Comfort dishes hold equal weight: ramen bowls and fragrant rice preparations bring warmth and familiarity, while the dim sum selection—truffle edamame, sriracha chicken and other delicate bites—vanishes almost as soon as it hits the table.
Desserts are indulgent yet restrained, with the molten chocolate soufflé and Matilda pull-up cake offering a polished, satisfying finish.
Cocktails that tell stories
Helmed by Kaustubh Sawardekar, YAZU’s High Spirits of Asia cocktail programme takes a narrative-led approach. Drawing inspiration from markets, streets and cities across the continent, drinks like the Thai Bliss Cocktail and Holysmoke move beyond novelty, delivering layered and well-balanced flavours.
The gin and tonic selection, featuring house-made tonics and botanical infusions, is quietly impressive—refined, nuanced, and designed for repeat orders rather than fleeting intrigue.

A gentle pause for daytime dining
For slower afternoons, YAZU introduces a tea ritual in collaboration with Tea Culture. Kashmiri kahwa, oolongs and calming herbal blends are paired with coconut panna cotta or house-made gelatos, making the space as compelling by day as it is after dark. This daytime versatility remains a rarity in Bengaluru’s dining landscape.
A place designed to linger
YAZU is not built for hurried meals or fleeting visits. It is designed for lingering, connection and ease. In a city that already values good food, YAZU distinguishes itself by offering something rarer—a dining experience that feels complete, cultured, and confidently understated.
For Bengaluru’s elite, YAZU is less about discovery and more about belonging.
