Puranique Spirits has officially announced its foray into the Indian market with the launch of its flagship portfolio. The brand introduced two signature products, Puranique Vodka, distilled nine times for exceptional smoothness, and Puranique VSOP Cognac, a true embodiment of French craftsmanship – at an exclusive event held at Taj Lands End, Mumbai.

Bringing European legacy to Indian shores

With this strategic entry, Puranique Spirits aims to bring its legacy of European distillation to one of the world’s fastest-growing premium spirits markets. The company’s operations draw from two globally renowned regions: Cognac in France, where time-honored traditions produce fine Cognac, Armagnacs, liqueurs, and Pineau des Charentes wines, and the Scottish Highlands, home to their award-winning gin, rum, absinthe, and akvavit.

India’s growing appetite for premium spirits

Speaking on the occasion, Anoop Mohan, Promoter & CEO, Puranique Spirits India, said, “India is at the heart of the global premium spirits growth story. Consumers here are not just looking for a drink, but for an experience that is authentic, refined, and world-class. As India and the UK forge a deeper trade alliance, the timing couldn’t be more perfect to bring our European portfolio to Indian shores. Tonight marks not just the launch of a brand, but the beginning of a cultural bridge between French and Scottish craftsmanship and India’s growing love for fine taste.”

Building a premium spirits ecosystem in India

Rahul Puranik, Chairman, Puranique Spirits, added, “For over two decades, our distilleries in France and Scotland have been producing award-winning spirits that are now enjoyed in 18 countries across the world. Bringing them to India feels like a natural progression in our journey. With our vodka and Cognac now available, and plans to introduce the full portfolio by 2026, we are excited to build a complete premium spirits ecosystem in India.”

Expanding portfolio and future plans

Viren Moholkar, Country Head, India, Puranique Spirits, said, “Our entry into India is not just about introducing two products, it’s the beginning of a larger portfolio that will see 24 premium offerings across categories by the end of next year. With vodka and Cognac leading the way, each product in our portfolio has been carefully crafted to deliver authenticity and unmatched quality. This breadth gives real weight to our vision of making Puranique a name synonymous with luxury and world-class experiences in India.”

Veteran actor Mahesh Manjrekar named brand ambassador

Puranique’s India expansion will eventually span five key categories: Cognac, Gin, Rum, Vodka, and an Artisan Craft Spirits range, all carefully crafted to cater to discerning Indian consumers. The evening also witnessed the announcement of veteran actor and filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar as Puranique Spirits’ brand ambassador. Sharing his passion for the brand, Manjrekar said, “For me, Puranique represents everything that defines a truly premium spirit—heritage, craftsmanship, and refinement. It’s a brand that doesn’t just create beverages, it creates experiences. I’m proud to be associated with a name that is bringing global excellence to India and raising the bar for what luxury in spirits should mean here.”
