Ohri’s Group has inaugurated Tansen, a restaurant inspired by the legendary musician Tansen, known for his impact on Indian classical music. The restaurant combines the grandeur of the Mughal era with the culinary traditions of the North-Western Frontier.
Tansen aims to celebrate the musician’s legacy by offering a dining experience that mirrors his creativity and sophistication. The restaurant features a serene ambience with flowing water, live Sufi music, and decor reminiscent of Mughal courts, adorned in shades of gold. The service and language reflect the elegance of Urdu poetry.
The restaurant offers an array of dishes, including the Sundried Tomato & Smoked Cheese Kulcha and the robust Hyderabadi Marag—a spicy mutton soup infused with hazelnut and rose essence. The main course features specialities like the Green Chicken Curry, known for its tantalizing blend of chilli, coriander, and raw mango; and the historic Pathar-ka-Gosht, traditionally cooked on flat granite stones. Innovative creations like the Edamame & Green Peas Kebab, a fusion of Middle Eastern and Indian flavours, and the Pepper Fish, marinated to perfection with a peppery twist and served with applewood smoked pineapple chutney, add to the allure.
