Anjeer, created by the team behind Fig, offers a distinct take on Indian dining. It moves beyond convention to explore flavour, culture, and creativity through a thoughtful perspective. Building on the mindful approach that defined Fig, Anjeer reinterprets Indian cuisine with clear purpose, energy, and intention.
Ingredient-forward and effortlessly experiential
Anjeer (अंजीर, meaning ‘fig’ in Hindi) offers an Indian dining experience that is both immersive and effortless—centered on ingredients and bold flavours, without unnecessary complexity. Situated on Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road at The Kitchens, Global Gateway Towers, the space presents Indian cuisine as shareable, delivering satisfaction without traditional indulgence.
A mindful and creative menu
The menu weaves together regional and indigenous Indian dishes through the process of intelligent creativity. Small Shares are designed to spark conversation and variety—each plate vibrant and intentionally portioned. Large Shares strike a refined balance—elegant and light yet deeply flavourful. The structure of the menu itself is a thoughtful gesture: presented individually, allowing guests to curate their meal freely—whether choosing a series of small plates, or pairing them with larger ones, depending on the occasion or company.

A space that reflects culinary values
Anjeer’s design, a collaboration between Studio Lotus and Studio GreyMatter, mirrors the restaurant’s culinary approach; challenging traditional Indian restaurant aesthetics while remaining grounded in authentic materials.
Timber, terrazzo, stone, and textiles are combined thoughtfully with texture and purpose: hand-dressed sandstone walls with varied finishes evoke woven fabric; translucent kantha-style embroidered panels are layered within glass; and subtle terrazzo inlays flow across the floor in gentle patterns, anchored by the brand’s distinctive bright pink.
An open kitchen without thresholds
A key gesture, radical in the context of Indian restaurants; is how the kitchen unfolds seamlessly into the dining space, integrating cold stations, a bar, and a coffee counter as visible parts of the guest journey. “There is no threshold; no typical back of house. This puts the restaurant’s philosophy at the front and centre of the dining experience, the equivalent of sitting at a friend’s kitchen table; casual, warm, and open,” says Asha Sairam, Principal at Studio Lotus.
Parallel values, original expression
“At Anjeer, we took what we know about Indian food as the baseline, and layered it with everything we learned at Fig—creating a parallel that shares the same values but never intersects. We’ve anchored our philosophy of fresh ingredients and ethical sourcing in everything we do. Expect the same feeling and thoughtfulness, but Anjeer stands entirely on its own merit—with its own rhythm, expression, and purpose. Built on intelligent creativity and guided by emotion, Anjeer is a manifestation of modern-day cooking into a space that feels comfortable and delivers a joyful dining experience. Our menu is rooted in simplicity, drawing from tradition, yet reflecting a progression in the art of cooking,” — Manish Yadav, Founding CEO, Fig & Anjeer.
