Consistent performance over the years – that was what wowed the jury members of the 12th Hotelier India Awards when they deliberated about Meena Bhatnagar’s nomination and finally chose her as the contender for the special Jury Recognition Award. With over three decades in the hospitality industry, she has worked her way up from the position of an Executive Housekeeper at Rambagh Palace, after joining IHCL, to taking over as General Manager of Taj Wellington Mews Luxury Residences. Throughout this period, she dealt with various challenges with her trademark intelligence, grace, empathy and humility.
Last year, guests at several luxury residences requested general managers to lower the rent, since many services like the spa, pool and gym were not operational. Handling such guest feedback is where experience and maturity comes to the fore. Bhatnagar was able to help her discerning guests see the merits following pandemic-appropriate and government mandated rules without ruffling any feathers.
