In the past year, Gaurav Mudgal, Revenue Director, Fairmont Jaipur focused on the wedding market and domestic leisure travellers. He also implemented the practice of accepting 25% advance during booking. These moves helped the hotel to maintain cash flow efficiently
during the pandemic.
“There was no buy out queries for the 245 rooms during the pandemic,” he recalled. “So, I implemented venue management strategies where multiple venues were allocated strategically enabling us to cater to two 100-room events on a single date.” This helped the
hotel to not only achieve its targets during a controlled demand period, but also deliver its highest month-on-month revenue till date.
Mudgal also launched an inclusive package to rent out the entire palace to make weddings more experiential. “Despite a 100 to 150 RPD room requirement, this strategy helped us maintain our GOP and EBITDA as we posted pure rental income. This strategy also supported us to deliver 71% growth in number of room nights with 3% growth in ADR and 76% growth in terms of revenue in comparison to 2020,” he proudly claimed.
