Zariya by Dal Samarkand has officially opened its doors in South Delhi, introducing a warm and contemporary Indian dining experience that brings comfort, flavour, and simplicity to the forefront.

Developed by the team behind Dal Samarkand, the new space reflects a natural evolution in their culinary journey, offering a menu that blends everyday familiarity with seasonal nuance. Located in the bustling market of Kailash Colony, Zariya is more than a restaurant. It is a thoughtfully designed social space where nostalgia meets modernity, flavour meets finesse, and comfort meets creativity.

Blending Tradition with Innovation

Rooted in the rich heritage of Dal Samarkand, the new space takes a confident leap into the present. It blends timeless Indian recipes with global techniques and seasonal, locally sourced ingredients.

At Zariya, the familiar is made exciting again. Chaats are reimagined, kebabs are hand-pounded with artisanal care, and signature comfort dishes are plated with a touch of surprise. It is a culinary ode to India’s diverse palate, served with elegance and emotion.

Cocktails with a Cultural Twist

Curated around Indian botanicals and native spices, the cocktail menu is inspired by memory, landscape, and culture. Each drink is designed to pair seamlessly with the food while also standing strong as an independent experience. Layered, inventive, and rooted in identity.

A Space That Shifts With the Day

What sets Zariya apart is its duality. By day, it welcomes guests as a warm, easygoing café where conversations unfold over chai and coffee platters, light bites, and natural light. By night, the same space transforms into a buzzing retrobar filled with rhythm, energy, and shared plates. This all-day format allows Zariya to serve as both a community hub and a cultural escape. A space where people can pause, connect, and discover something new.

A Design That Reflects Its Essence

The design of the restaurant mirrors its culinary philosophy. The interiors strike a balance between contemporary minimalism and Indian warmth. Tactile materials, subtle motifs, and ambient lighting come together to create a setting that feels both elevated and inviting. Whether guests are visiting for a casual brunch, a curated cocktail experience, or a full-course celebration, the space encourages presence, ease, and belonging.

Rooted in Legacy, Designed for Today

“What began as a homemade, age-old recipe for Dal Makhani has now become the heart of a larger culinary journey, a dish that continues to anchor our menu and symbolizes the roots from which Zariya has grown,” added Ujval Ahuja, Co-founder, Zariya by Dal Samarkand.

“With Zariya, we set out to build more than a restaurant. We wanted to create a cultural destination where food, design, and emotion come together to tell a story. One that’s grounded in legacy but reimagined for today’s generation,” said Tarun Kapoor, Co-founder, Zariya by Dal Samarkand.
