Pune Gas launches Tamil Nadu’s very first exclusive LPG systems experience centre, ‘Pune Gas Experience Centre, Chennai’ in the presence of Chief Guest, AX Alexander IPS (retired DGP, Tamil Nadu), Dr Cynthia Alexander (MBBS, MD, DOG) and Guests of Honour, Jaisinh Sampat (Chairman, Pune Gas), Jesal Sampat (Executive Director, Pune Gas), Bhaven Udeshi (Director, Sales & Marketing, Pune Gas), and Arvind Noel Xavier Leo (Head of Business and Franchise Owner, Chennai, Pune Gas).

August 15, 2024, marks a new chapter in the growth journey of Pune Gas with the opening of its experience centre in Chennai at Kilpauk Garden Road. The experience centre is the first of its kind in Tamil Nadu and the second in India after Pune. This initiative was driven by Arvind Noel Xavier Leo, the Head of Pune Gas Chennai business and also the franchise owner for the Chennai region.

The experience centre features:

  • The flagship Smart LPG System called LPGenius, which is designed to overcome common hurdles faced by HoReCa users, such as cylinder sweating and freezing,
  • The newly launched industrial system GasTrain (also known as a Pressure Regulating System PRS), an essential component in gas distribution networks, and
  • A host of other solutions and products for users of commercial gas.

Here, a customer walks in with a vague idea of what he wants and walks out with complete clarity and perfect solutions for what he really needs for his business.

According to reports, the LPG consumption in India reached 30,916 TMT (thousand metric tonnes) in FY 2022–23, out of which 83% is used in the domestic cooking segment and about 16% is used in the industrial and commercial segment, leading to a huge gap in the commercial segment because industries are still using traditional polluting fossil fuels like diesel, kerosene, furnace oil, and wood. The number of LPG distributors across India in 2023 is 25,385 making India the third-largest LPG consumer in the world.

As of April 1, 2023, Tamil Nadu alone has 6.08 lakh commercial and industrial LPG customers!

LPG users usually lose three to four kg of LPG daily because of cylinder ‘freezing’. This is because of the rampant use of the 19 kg commercial cylinder, which is not ideal but insufficient for the manufacturing process and restaurants and hotels. A 19-kg cylinder cannot reach as much gas as required by the burners, and hence the cylinder freezes. Instead, Pune Gas has propagated the use of efficient LOT (liquid off-take) 47.5 kg cylinders with a world-class system called LPGenius which is Made In India. It is proven to improve efficiency and save 20–30% on a company’s LPG consumption just by the correct use of LPG fuel with a smart system.

Jesal Sampat, Executive Director of Pune Gas, says, “At Pune Gas, we realised our mission to empower businesses to adopt cleaner methods of manufacturing needed a catalyst that could change the way commercial and industrial users access our systems and solutions. The idea was to democratise the use of our systems, standardise them for multiple industries, and eventually make them more accessible. This gave birth to Pune Gas Experience Centres, a game-changer in the commercial gas products and solutions segment that focuses on enhanced ownership
experience, accurate information delivery, and grassroots awareness of gas systems and solutions for small and large businesses. While electricity is a commonly used energy source, it is expensive and not the most preferred source of fuel for industries, particularly when compared to LPG. The cost of electricity in industrial use varies between Rs 8 and Rs 15 per unit, whereas the LPG could cost between Rs 4 and 5 per unit.”

Arvind Noel Xavier Leo, Head of Business and Franchise Owner, Chennai, Pune Gas, added, “We are happy and proud to announce the launch of Tamil Nadu’s first exclusive LPG systems experience centre. The new Pune Gas Experience Centre in Chennai was dearly missed all this while for something as crucial as the fuel and its systems that create wonderful gastronomical experiences. Right from basic spares and components to vaporisers and the recently launched LPGenius, the Pune Gas Experience Centre in Chennai showcases everything professionals and industries need for their businesses as far as heating systems are concerned.”

In the future, Pune Gas remains dedicated to innovation, with plans to introduce new products tailored to the evolving requirements of the HoReCa industry and commercial users.
