Introducing India’s First Cicchetti Bar
A landmark restaurant for Italian food since 2002, Italia has now made a dramatic leap forward by launching India’s first Cicchetti bar, taking cues from the eclectic food culture of Venice. Born out of the Venetian tradition of not drinking on an empty stomach, Cicchetti was created as small plates of food to accompany wine. This centuries-old tradition has been reimagined at Italia, where you can experience the authentic flavours and spirit of Venice.
An Atmosphere That Transports You to Italy
From the moment we stepped in here, we found the atmosphere unmistakably Italian — warm orange tones, cozy lighting, and a laid-back, comfortable layout that immediately relaxed us.
Small Plates, Big Flavours
Let’s talk about the food. We began with the Fritto, a platter of crunchy, lightly fried morsels that balanced texture and flavor perfectly. Guests can indulge in an assortment of bruschetta, such as the classic Tomato, Mozzarella, and Basil combination or the luxurious Smoked Salmon with Mascarpone and Capers. For lovers of hearty fare, the menu features a variety of handmade pasta and risotto dishes, including Risotto Milanese al Tartufo, a saffron-infused delicacy, and Pappardelle con Crema di Funghi Porcini, a sumptuous blend of porcini mushrooms and parmesan.
A Pizza to Remember
Then came the pizza, which was undoubtedly the star of the show. With a perfectly crisp base and layers of rich, molten cheese, every bite was deeply satisfying and bursting with flavour. Paired with a beautiful glass of Italian wine, the meal was nothing short of delightful.
Cocktails with Cultural Flair
The fresh cocktail menu seemed like another winner. Each one honors an Italian cultural icon — from experimental composer Charlemagne Palestine to screen legend Anna Magnani. Even Massimo De Carlo, the contemporary art dealer, gets a cocktail in his name, adding an artistic touch.
Ending on a Sweet Note
We finished off with a beautifully crafted Tiramisù and an Affogato al Caffè; comfort sweets that struck just the right chord.
More Than a Meal – It’s a Venetian Experience
All in all, Italia at The Park is no longer merely a high-end Italian restaurant – it’s an experience. With the Cicchetti bar, creative cocktails, and a menu that walks the line between tradition and modernity, this place feels like a slice of Venice right in the middle of Bangalore.
