The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) continues to lead the way in sustainability by increasing its use of renewable energy across its hotels. In FY 2024-25, 51 IHCL hotels are now powered by clean energy sources, with 13 of them operating on 100% renewable energy.

A Holistic Approach to Green Energy Transition

Gaurav Pokhariyal, Executive Vice President – Human Resources at IHCL, highlighted that this green energy transition is integral to the company’s holistic sustainability strategy. IHCL’s shift towards renewable energy enhances both operational resilience and environmental impact, reaffirming its commitment to responsible hospitality.

Renewable Energy Contribution Across Regions

IHCL now meets over 35% of its energy requirements through renewable sources, with a total annual consumption of approximately 41 crore kWh. Hotels in Maharashtra, with extensive on-site solar installations, lead the way, while those in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka make significant contributions through wind energy.

As IHCL continues to grow its portfolio of 380 hotels, the company remains dedicated to adopting sustainable energy solutions and reducing its environmental footprint, aligning with its long-term sustainability vision.
