Sian sizzles at Vivanta Chennai

The refreshed menu at Sian combines traditional techniques with luxurious ingredients, offering an unforgettable dining experience

Sian, the contemporary Chinese cuisine restaurant at Vivanta Chennai, IT Expressway, has long been the city’s favourite destination for Oriental flavours. Food connoisseurs have revelled in the varied specialities of Szechwan and Cantonese cuisine, where the chefs have skillfully balanced the sweet, sour, and spicy notes with the tingling sensation of Sichuan peppers.

Executive Chef Saratchandra Banerji, who recently joined the team, has worked closely with the masterchef to curate a fresh new menu inspired by the rich culinary traditions of China’s Sichuan and Cantonese regions. Known for their bold and vibrant tastes, the new menu at Sian combines traditional techniques with luxurious ingredients, offering an unforgettable dining experience.

The refreshed menu at Sian features a selection of premium seafood, including lobster, octopus, scampi, squid, sea prawns, seabass, grouper, and red snapper, where each dish is made with fresh and sustainable ingredients.  The master chefs have also curated an extensive array of dim sums and noodles, catering to both vegetarian and non-vegetarian palates.

A unique aspect of Sian’s dining experience is the customisation of spice levels, allowing guests to tailor the heat level of their dishes to their preferences. The servers are trained to guide diners through the spice-level options, ensuring a personalised dining experience.

To complement the bold flavours of the cuisine, Sian’s mixologists have crafted a range of innovative cocktails infused with Szechwan-inspired ingredients such as Szechwan pepper and chilli oil. These beverages pair perfectly with the dishes, enhancing the overall dining experience.

Set against an elegant backdrop that combines modern design with traditional Chinese elements, Sian offers an inviting atmosphere for the guests. The yin and yang concept used in the décor, together with the intricate woodwork and soft tones of the interiors, have been designed to transport guests to the heart of China. The live glass-encased show kitchen makes the dining experience even more engaging by serving up oriental grills and dim sums to guests.
