Chef Mohammed Eliyaz joins Conrad Bengaluru as the Executive Chef

Chef Eliyaz will conceptualise and craft signature and seasonal menus, explore innovative culinary collaborations, and steer profitable F&B strategies

Conrad Bengaluru appointed Chef Mohammed Eliyaz as the Executive Chef. Chef Eliyaz holds a BSc degree in Hospitality and Catering Management from IHM Meerut and has had the privilege of training under renowned chefs at Hotel Hassler, Rome.

In his career spanning 15 years, he has collaborated with some of the finest Michelin Star chefs. He served as the Executive Chef at Nadodi in Kuala Lumpur, a noteworthy Michelin-starred restaurant. He also held the position of Group R&D Chef at Cinnamon Group, where he spearheaded the introduction of new ventures and directed food and beverage development strategies.

Closer home, he led the kitchen at ALBA, the acclaimed European restaurant at JW Marriott Hotel, Bengaluru, for two and a half years, during which ALBA was honoured with the ‘Best Italian Restaurant’ award in the fine dining category at the Food Awards 2018.  

Speaking on the appointment, Digvijay Singh, General Manager at Conrad Bengaluru, said, “We are thrilled to embark on an exciting culinary voyage as Chef Eliyaz joins Conrad Bengaluru. In his current role, Chef Eliyaz will lead a talented team of chefs and F&B staff across the hotel. He will conceptualise and craft signature and seasonal menus, explore innovative culinary collaborations, and steer profitable F&B strategies. As the Executive Chef, he will oversee planning and strategy for the famed culinary pillar at Conrad Bengaluru.

Chef Eliyaz is recognised for his achievements in the field of culinary arts. He was awarded Young Chef of the Year by IHE in 2019, Most Innovative Chef of the Year by BBC Food in 2019, and was listed among the Top 10 Young Chefs as well as the Top 40 Chefs in the Country Under the Age of 40 by Condé Nast Traveller Magazine. Additionally, he claimed victory as the winner of Chefs vs Fridge Season 2.  Under his astute leadership, Nadodi came under the Michelin guide map, and Tatler magazine awarded Nadodi the best restaurant recognition in Malaysia.
