Canadian Wood conducts a seminar in Indore for the architectural fraternity

Titled ‘Canadian Wood – The Sustainable Solution’, the event highlighted the importance and benefits of using Canadian Wood as a sustainable building material.

The British Columbia (BC) provincial government’s crown corporation, Forestry Innovation Consulting India Pvt Ltd (FII India), popularly known as Canadian Wood, successfully hosted an insightful seminar titled ‘Canadian Wood – The Sustainable Solution’ at the Marriott Hotel in Indore.

The event highlighted the importance and benefits of using Canadian Wood as a sustainable building material. The seminar featured distinguished speakers who shared their expertise and perspectives on sustainable building practices with certified wood species. Ar Puneet Pandey from Vima – The Dimension was one of the keynote speakers, who discussed the growing importance of sustainability in construction with wood and how Canadian Wood can play a pivotal role in reducing the environmental impact.

Dr Jimmy Thomas, Assistant Director of Technical Services at Canadian Wood, opened the session with an in-depth informative session on sustainability and certification from BC Canada and dwelled more on sustainable forestry practices. He also emphasised the role of Canadian Wood in reducing the carbon footprint of construction projects.

Gajanan Patankar, Assistant Director of Business Development at Canadian Wood, provided a comprehensive overview of the unique properties of BC wood species and their versatile applications in the woodworking industry. His presentation included case studies showcasing successful projects in India that utilised Canadian Wood, demonstrating its increasing demand in the country.

Ar Puneet Pandey from Vima – The Dimension offered an architect’s perspective, discussing innovative design solutions that incorporate Canadian Wood species. He highlighted the aesthetic appeal, structural integrity, and eco-friendly attributes of the Canadian wood species, making it a preferred material for modern architecture.

In addition to the presentations, a Q&A session was held, where participants engaged in lively discussions about the technical aspects and long-term benefits of integrating Canadian Wood into their construction practices. The seminar underscored the commitment of FII India to promoting environmentally friendly building solutions and highlighted Canadian Wood species as a premier choice for those aiming to adopt sustainable and eco-conscious construction methods.
