The hospitality industry’s role in tackling global warming: Given the accelerating threat of global warming, it has never been more important for the hospitality industry to play a more proactive role in working towards a greener and healthier future. Global warming is an urgent reality and hospitality leaders must prioritise climate action within their strategic operations to ensure long-term sustainability and address the critical environmental challenges.
In response to the growing impact from climate change and rising demand for more sustainable hospitality options, Hilton is also evolving its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) commitments to help preserve the destinations where we operate and foster inclusive growth in communities worldwide. Hilton is advancing its Travel with Purpose 2030 Goals to redefine sustainable travel. Some key initiatives in India include:
- Hydroponic Setup at Hilton Goa Resort: Implemented hydroponics at our all-day dining restaurant @Saipe to also emphasize Hilton’s commitment to sourcing ingredients sustainably.
- Repurposing: We are transforming discarded linen into shoe bags for guests at Hilton Garden Inn, Saket, creatively reducing waste and providing guests with a sustainable amenity.
- Replacing Plastic Water Bottles with Glass Bottles: Across various estates like Hilton Chennai, Hilton Garden Inn Lucknow, and Hilton Baani Square, Gurugram, Hilton India has committed to significantly reduce plastic waste by 50% by 2030.
- Organic Waste Conversion at Conrad Pune: Conrad Pune’s Organic Waste Converter is helping us turn food waste into organic fertilizer.
These goals are part of Hilton’s broader strategy to combat climate change and promote environmental stewardship. By integrating these sustainable practices, Hilton is dedicated to creating a positive impact on the environment while delivering exceptional hospitality experiences.
Hilton’s environmental sustainability goals: Travel with Purpose is Hilton’s ESG strategy to drive responsible travel and tourism globally. Through Travel with Purpose, we seek to create positive environmental and social impact across our operations, supply chain, and communities.
