Industry veteran Rabindra Rai steps in as Director of Operations at Courtyard Bengaluru Outer Ring Road

With over 15 years of management experience in the luxury hospitality industry, Rai brings a wealth of expertise and a customer-centric approach to his new role

As the Director of Operations at Courtyard by Marriott Bengaluru Outer Ring Road, Rabindra Rai will be responsible for overseeing the hotel’s core departments, ensuring compliance with operating controls, SOPs, and service standards.

He will also play a crucial role in driving business development, maintaining guest relations, and fostering a high-performing team to achieve operational excellence and exceed guest satisfaction targets.

Rai’s skill set includes a diverse range of competencies. He is GBAC Star certified for handling bio-hygiene and safety issues, ensuring that current prevailing situations are managed effectively. Rai is also experienced in implementing strategies and executing operations in highly competitive business scenarios.

Throughout his career, Rai has proven to be an independent leader with strong mentoring, supervisory, and motivational abilities. He is committed to building winning teams and has a track record of hiring, developing, and managing talent while fostering collaboration across departments. Rai has successfully planned and executed multiple events for honourable Prime Ministers and Presidents, demonstrating his exceptional ability to deliver high-quality service to esteemed guests during state banqueting and outdoor catering arrangements.

Before joining Courtyard by Marriott Bengaluru Outer Ring Road, Rai served as the Food and Beverage Manager at The Westin Sohna Resort and Spa, and was the Restaurant Manager at The Westin.

Rai holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management with a specialization in Marketing and Strategy Planning from the Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad. He also completed his BSc in Hospitality and Hotel Administration from the Institute of Hotel Management Pusa, New Delhi.

When not at work, Rabindra enjoys journaling his ideas and experiences. He is also an ardent explorer for local cultural and dining specialities.
