Four Seasons Hotel Mumbai appoints Ashwin Mathur as hotel manager. Joining the hotel from his latest stint as Director of Food & Beverage at the Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai in Vietnam, in his new role Mathur will oversee the day-to-day operations of the 33-storey hotel, including managing 202 luxurious guestrooms & suites, the multi-accolade winning AER – Bar & Lounge and San:Qi, the spa, meetings & events, and will be focused on further strengthening the services and experiences that Four Seasons Hotel Mumbai offers to its guests.
Ashwin’s early childhood in Paris gave him a taste of travel and set his eyes on the world of Food & Beverage and Hospitality. After completing his Bachelors in Hotel & Tourism Management from the Institute of Hotel Management, Bangalore, Ashwin’s journey with Four Seasons began in 2002 on the island of Kuda Huraa in Maldives as an aspiring Assistant Manager in Food & Beverage. As being part of the team that experienced the tragic 2004 Tsunami, opportunity came to him to move to Four Seasons Dallas Resort & Club.
In 2006, he moved back to re-open Kuda Huraa as the Restaurants Manager. A year down the line, after acquiring his Canadian residency, Ashwin once again crossed the oceans to join Four Seasons Toronto to manage the legendary Studio Café. With the closure of Four Seasons Toronto, Ashwin moved to Starwood, as Director of Food & Beverage. However in 2016 the sands of Maldives came calling back for him, this time to Dusit Thani, as Director of Food & Beverage.
With Four Seasons always on the distant horizon, it was only a matter of time that he was back to join the brand again in late 2016 as the opening Director of Food & Beverage of The Nam Hai resort in Vietnam which was successfully re-branded to Four Seasons. With an avid passion to bring Food & Beverage alive, he developed some extraordinary Four Seasons experiences that the hotel’s guests love so much today. The resort and particularly Food & Beverage has since undergone a wonderful evolution under Mathur’s leadership.
