You lead businesses across hospitality, bullion, sports and lifestyle. Was there one moment that shifted you from โsupporting the legacyโ to confidently โredefining itโ in your own name?
Honestly, the shift arrived quietly during my first independent responsibility. It was the first time I could shape decisions in a way that felt true to my own instincts. I introduced changes that strengthened the work culture and opened new possibilities for growth. That experience helped me understand that I was not only carrying my familyโs legacy forward but also guiding it toward a new horizon. It gave me the confidence to step into my role as Executive Chairperson of Aspect Global Ventures with a calm and steady sense of direction.
Your family empire is rooted in tradition, yet your personal brand is bold, modern and global. How do you balance legacy with the freedom to lead your way?
Legacy gives me grounding, and I hold it with a lot of respect. At the same time, todayโs world asks for flexibility, wider vision and a willingness to evolve. I try to blend both. The values I grew up with shape every decision, while a more modern outlook helps me welcome new ideas and new opportunities. This balance allows me to lead Aspect Global Ventures in a way that feels gentle, progressive and still deeply connected to where we began. It is a blend of heritage and hope working together.
You operate in three high stakes worlds; luxury hospitality, bullion and professional sport. When you think about power, do you see it in assets, capital control or cultural influence?
Today, power is a complex term, with many layers of definition. Although financial stability is important to create a solid foundation for leadership, the true ability to influence comes from being an innovator in the way that you create culture through food, luxury consumption, and the relationship between sport and people.

Power is the ability to lead these industries by creating the standard of excellence, developing relationships, and establishing the vision for your community. It is crucial to find a way to effectively balance the financial strength of their businesses, the credibility of their institutions, and the cultural experiences that they create for the communities in which they operate.
Bullion deals with national trust, hospitality with lifestyle. How do you define โresponsible wealthโ in a world where luxury easily slips into excess?
Responsible wealth, for me, is about having ambition while preserving your own morals and conscience. Bullion is a trusted source of national integrity and can only be built with honesty and transparency. On the other hand, the hospitality industry must maintain great level of restraint and accountability to celebrate craftsmanship and be indulgent.
I believe that responsible wealth is created whenever the growth of your company has been achieved without compromising the integrity of the environment or the well-being of people. Responsible wealth also means having the discipline to invest for long-term value, uplifting the ecosystem around you, and recognising that luxury should not be placed on a pedestal or pursued as excess for its own sake.
Your restaurants are built on aesthetics, storytelling and strong identity. What must a concept prove; beyond food and numbers; before you attach your name to it?
Before I approve or endorse a concept, I need it to have substance beyond atmosphere and food. The concept should include a storyline, a business plan committed to operational discipline, cultural authenticity, and provide opportunities for the customer to develop a deep emotional connection with the brand.
In looking at who the stakeholders are in a project, I want to work with people who know their craft, provide consistency, and are passionate yet mindful of hospitality as an experience. This is the same approach that also guides Aspect Hospitality. I consider endorsing an idea when it demonstrates long-term relevance, responsible growth potential, and the ability to add meaningful value to the Aspect Global Venture portfolio.
Indiaโs young and aspirational audience can be unpredictable. Whatโs one moment when Indian diners surprised you; either beyond your expectations or sharply grounding them?
A moment that stays with me was when we introduced a small trial dish that blended familiar Indian flavours with a modern twist. It was meant to be a quiet experiment, nothing more. Instead, it drew unexpected attention and quickly became the most requested item among young diners.
Their response reminded us that todayโs audience is completely open to trying something new as long as it feels honest, balanced and thoughtfully created. It grounded us and encouraged us to keep listening closely to what excites them.
Owning the Tiigers of Kolkata took you from hospitality to stadiums. What has team ownership taught you about pressure and loyalty that restaurants couldnโt?
Having a team is an intense experience because loyalty in sport is raw and emotionally charged and is shared publicly. You are responsible not just to your players, but also to the fans and the entire community in which you work.
In hospitality, you can perfect your guest’s experience; however, through my time in sports as the owner of Tiigers of Kolkata, I learned how to deal with the unpredictability of life with resilience. Leadership in high-pressure environments requires empathy, conviction, and the willingness to be there for your team through both wins and losses. The level of emotional depth that sport has provided for me has improved my decision-making in every aspect of my business.
Luxury hospitality and grassroots sport sit worlds apart. How do you ensure your investment in sport genuinely creates opportunities and not just another lifestyle extension?
Sporting investments should encompass more than just lifestyle or brand image development. Our dedication to the area involves developing pathways, creating training infrastructure, providing youth talent access, and creating professional support systems that will help athletes progress from the grassroots level to competing on a professional stage.

I am committed to working with trusted partners, maintaining transparent governance and measuring our success against developmental achievements rather than just visibility. Ultimately, our focus is to enhance the future of sport in India in a manner that is both measurable and inclusive, and truly transformative in nature.
As the first woman Vice President in bullion and the face of a major conglomerate, what stereotype do you still face around money or negotiation, and how do you break it without softening yourself?
Women often face assumptions about negotiation strength or financial authority in bullion, a sector traditionally dominated by men. The stereotype is that one has to soften firmness to make it “acceptable.” I challenge this by being precise, data-driven, and unwavering when it comes to standards. Professional competence dissolves bias. My approach has always been to lead with clarity and transparency, letting performance define credibility instead of perception, especially in an industry built on trust and long-term relationships.
Years from now, beyond titles and valuations, whatโs the one shift; in luxury or in womenโs leadership; you hope people say happened because of you?
I hope my journey contributes to two essential shifts: redefining Indiaโs luxury with clarity, intention, and inclusivity while elevating it to global standards; and providing proof to tomorrow’s leaders that a woman can manage a highly complex organisation on her terms, without having to compromise her integrity. And if I were able to encourage one young leader out there to believe in the possibility of being built for ambition and compassion, the potential to reset the definition of legacy with boldness, that is worth far more to me than any title or valuation or milestones I might achieve.
