Nasi and Mee its newest restaurant in Chennai at Phoenix Marketcity. This location marks the brand’s third restaurant in Chennai and the flagship, celebrating a decade of culinary excellence since its inception in 2015. With this launch, Nasi and Mee now has nine restaurants across South India.
A modern Balinese villa brought to life
The Phoenix Marketcity location is a visual spectacle, thoughtfully designed to transport diners and mall shoppers into a modern Balinese villa. The interiors feature exposed rafters, rich cane light fixtures, and a visually open rectangular layout that allows guests to take in the entire space at a glance. A mix of pivots and louvre columns adds visual rhythm and depth, while the decision to allow less natural light creates a calm, evening-leaning ambiance where warm tones and shadows take the lead.
A mural that sets the mood
The centerpiece of the restaurant is a striking mural that resembles a moonlit view from a Balinese villa. Painted in cool blues and soft yellow highlights, it depicts village animals in playful roles—a stork eating sushi, a peacock slurping noodles, and a chef-hat-clad water buffalo—creating a whimsical scene that blends culture with imagination.
A space designed for escape
The design blends serenity with storytelling — inviting diners not just to eat, but to arrive, escape, and experience. With every detail intentional and immersive, the newest Nasi and Mee location welcomes guests into a space where Asian cuisine meets island soul, and every visit feels like a getaway.
Launch of a limited-time Korean menu
Nasi and Mee marks the launch of its flagship with The Korean Edit, a limited-time menu featuring crowd favourites like Jjin-Mandu, Gimbap, Yangnyeon Chicken Wings, Haemul Pajeon, and classic Bibimbap. The special menu brings Korea’s vibrant street-food flavours to Chennai, offered alongside the brand’s signature Southeast Asian dishes. Diners can end their meal with the refreshing Passion Fruit Panna Cotta.
A message from the leadership
“Our new flagship at Chennai is designed to bring diners closer to the craft behind their food. After seeing this format thrive in Bangalore, we’re excited to introduce Chennai to its first live sushi station — a space where flavour and experience come together. Launching at Phoenix Marketcity, one of the city’s most loved destinations, makes this milestone even more meaningful.” Dilip Krishnan, Co-founder and CEO, India of Foodsta Kitchens, parent company of Nasi and Mee.
