Urbanpod, the first-of-its-kind pod hotel in India has launched in Mumbai. The modern architectural design and interiors are done by Singapore-based Formwerkz to give the hotel a feel of contemporary, minimalistic living, ideal for travellers seeking luxury-accommodation on a budget.
Urbanpod offers 140 pods across various categories – suite pods, private pods, classic pods for men and an exclusive ladies-only pod. These rooms are arranged side-by-side and one-upward to form elegant-arrays. The suite pod is suitable for couples; the private pods are roomier, while the exclusive ladies pods give women added safety and privacy.

The individual pods are self-contained with a cosy bed, personal locker with secure keycard access, plasma TV with headphones, personal reading light, power socket, hangers, a dresser (Wall mirror), free Wi-Fi, adjustable air-conditioning, air-purifier and a sliding door with lock. Each pod has a smoke detector and fire-extinguisher as a safety measure.
A guest’s luggage is stored in a separate individual locker facility. The non-attached bathroom suites are separate facilities that maintain the highest-quality standards while the communal cafeteria is a great place to network and make new friends while having a complimentary breakfast. 24-hour laundry and office services are also available as added benefits.
