Hotelier India launches jobs portal

Assessing an urgent need for skilled manpower in the hospitality industry, ITP Publishing launches an online jobs portal on their website www.hotelierindia.com.

Statistics show that the travel and tourism industry in Indian employs over 50 million people and is the largest employer after the government. The World Travel & Tourism Council states that the industry will grow exponentially to create eight million additional jobs in India over the next 10 years and that the contribution of the hospitality industry to the GDP is expected to rise from 8.6% in 2010 to 9.0% by 2020.

In keeping with this scenario, the portal is designed to connect employers with deserving candidates. Providing this service for free for a limited period only, the site allows visitors to access a database of potential candidates while also registering vacancies at their respective properties.

“I think it is fabulous for Hotelier India to start their own job portal. Hotelier India already has a huge following amongst hoteliers in India and with the start of this portal, job seekers now have an exciting platform to seek career opportunities. Also for the industry it is an appropriate platform to seek skilled talent. Hence it is a win-win proposition for all hoteliers. I wish Hotelier India much success in their new endeavor,” says Rimal D’Silva, HR manager at the Four Seasons Hotel, Mumbai.

Ashwin Fernandes, a graduate of the Dadar Catering College voices his appreciation of the portal. “This will allow me access to the hotels of my choice, at my fingertips, instead of chasing individual HR heads on the phone.”
