Ferry Warnke has been appointed as the new general manager at the Swissôtel Kolkata, the hospitality chain’s maiden property in India.
Warnke has moved to Kolkata from Swissôtel Merchant Court, Singapore where he was the executive assistant manager since 2007. He recently held similar responsibilities in Turkey, as interim general manager of Swissôtel Grand Efes, Izmir from May until October 2010. Warnke first joined the Company in December 2002 and operated in the role of F&B manager at Swissôtel The Howard, London, until August 2005. He then spent almost a year in Australia as director of F&B at Stamford Plaza Adelaide, before re-joining Swissôtel in Ankara as executive assistant manager in charge of F&B.
Warnke brings with him over 14 years of experience in hospitality, first joining Claridge’s London, UK in 1997. He then progressed to conferences and banquets at The Lygon Arms, The Broadway, UK and then Beverage Director at The Plaza, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, New York. He then joined the Sopwell house London, UK as operations manager before he joined Swissôtel Hotels and Resorts.
Warnke has a Degree in Restaurant and Service Management from KATAG in Luzern, Switzerland and a Master’s Degree in Hotel Management from the Bavaria Hotel School in Germany.
