Culinary Skill Challenge for Youth under PM’s Skill India Mission

The Tourism and Hospitality Skill Council (THSC) along with the Association of Hospitality Professional (AHP) and Prospurs Pte Ltd organised a Culinary Skill Challenge for aspiring chefs across the country. Hospitality students who are undergoing training under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana got an opportunity to showcase their culinary skills that were judged by industry experts. The event was also planned to highlight their contribution to the Skill India Mission promoted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of upskilling Indian youth to diminish unemployment.

Chef Vivek Saggar, head-business development, Tourism and Hospitality Skill Council, said, “We hope to participate in the Government’s Skill India Mission by providing right platform to trainee chefs from ‘Multiple Cuisine Cooks’ of the Government Kaushal Vikas Yojana to network and learn about the industry’s master chefs.”

Devipshita Gautam, founder president of AHP added, “The Culinary Skill Challenge is not just a competition but a platform for aspiring chefs to display their culinary skills. Our objective is to bring this fraternity closer and to offer trainees a professional platform to exhibit and hone their culinary skills, thereby creating better employment opportunities.”
