The next time you step into a service apartment and do not find your bedroom, kitchen and washroom, do not be perplexed; just look beyond the glass doors all around. Dorma, one of the leading companies in interior designing for hotels has come up with a unique 4-in-1 concept room for the service apartment industry.
The 4-in-1 room will have everything from bedroom to wardrobe and kitchen, all cleverly hidden away. “The only thing we had in mind while designing was that the customer should get everything, but nothing should be visible directly. Hiding away these elements will not make him feel as if he is living in just a 60-70 square metre area,” said Jagdeep Malhotra, national sales manager, Dorma.
The service apartment concept is catching up fast in India. With more and more expatriates coming to the country on employment, there is a bright future to the industry.
“A typical occupant living in a service apartment has come for a longer stay and so he would want everything under one roof, but also not want the same to be in clear sight. The partitions have been done with glass doors which are in sync with the texture of the room, so at first instance it would not be noticeable,” he added.
According to him, the demand has come more from cities like New Delhi and Mumbai, because people coming to these cities are more open to such concepts.
