Sans Souci has recently illuminated W Dubai-The Palm hotel resort. In collaboration with world-renowned architecture and design company DWP, the designers installed six lighting projects in the Atrium, W Lounge, meeting room and the breathtaking AWAY Spa.
Entering the main Atrium hall, a large pyramid bar construction composed of dozens of glass pyramids with a metallic nano-coating finish reminds of mirror glass. These miscellaneous pieces of glass in pyramidal shape are light on their own, and reflect and absorb surrounding light.
Using various shapes and sizes of the pyramids, the majority of processed glass has been used to underlie the efficiency and eco-friendliness of this unique installation. Continuing deeper, the Atrium, a luminous
fire pit bestows a welcoming home feeling of consequential W Lounge. On top, a large oval light was installed in one of the meeting rooms. The AWAY Spa features The Big Drop, a monumental dynamic glass light sculpture in a diameter of 8.2mtrs and height almost 2mtrs. It boasts more than a 1,000 little lamps, ending with a large water drop underlined by a plentiful amount of colour combinations
