Navi Mumbai International Airport to Open in June
The highly anticipated Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) is scheduled for inauguration in June this year, Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani announced recently.
Adani Shares Glimpse of India’s Aviation Future
During his visit to the airport site, Adani shared a video showcasing the progress of the $2.1 billion project, describing NMIA as a “true gift to India.”
“A glimpse into India’s aviation future! Visited the Navi Mumbai International Airport site today—a world-class airport taking shape. Set for inauguration this June, it will redefine connectivity & growth. A true gift to India!” Adani posted on X.
Designed for 20 Million Passengers in Phase One
Developed by the Adani Group, NMIA is designed to handle 20 million passengers annually in its first phase. Originally expected to be operational by December 2024, the project faced construction delays that pushed back the timeline.
Runway Ready, Terminal Work Underway
Reportedly, the airport’s runway is ready for commercial flights, while construction work on the terminal building is still ongoing. The upcoming inauguration is expected to mark a new chapter in India’s aviation sector, boosting regional connectivity and economic growth.
