Udaipur ranks the best city in Asia and second best in the world

The Travel + Leisure Readers' Awards released a list of the top ten best cities worldwide, with San Miguel de Allende in Mexico securing the first position, Udaipur in the second, and Kyoto in Japan in the third position. 

Travel + Leisure announced the World’s Best Awards in the United States on Tuesday. Udaipur, Rajasthan, has been ranked second among the world’s best cities and has claimed the top spot in Asia. The Travel + Leisure Readers’ Awards released a list of the top ten best cities worldwide, with San Miguel de Allende in Mexico securing the first position, Udaipur in the second, and Kyoto in Japan in the third position. 

Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari expressed her delight at Udaipur’s ranking as the second-best city globally and the top city in Asia, stating that this recognition is a tribute to Udaipur’s heritage, art, culture, and cuisine. The respect shown by the local people has attracted tourists from around the world. She added that the collective efforts of the state government’s policies and all stakeholders in the tourism sector have made Rajasthan one of the most favoured and best tourist destinations globally, leaving visitors with cherished memories.  

Principal Secretary Gayatri Rathore remarked that, under the leadership of Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari, Rajasthan tourism is scaling new heights. She noted a significant increase in the number of domestic and foreign tourists at the beginning of this year, indicating that Rajasthan is a preferred state for tourists.  

Tourism Department Director Dr Rashmi Sharma stated that the state tourism department is developing tourist facilities at various locations according to global standards. Under the capable leadership of Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari and the guidance of Principal Secretary Gayatri Rathore, Rajasthan tourism will achieve record milestones.
