It is also the first in South Asia to achieve this recognition under EDGE (IFC – The World Bank), highlighting the hotel’s commitment to responsible operations and environmental stewardship in alignment with Indian Hotels Company Limited’s ESG+ framework, Paathya.
Commitment to energy and resource efficiency
To earn this certification, the property achieved an EDGE Advanced rating, exceeding 40% in energy savings and 20% in both water and material savings. The hotel further qualified for the EDGE Zero Carbon rating by demonstrating net-zero on-site carbon emissions, reflecting a comprehensive approach to energy-efficient design, construction, and operation.

Global green certification framework
EDGE (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies) is a global green building certification developed by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a World Bank Group member, and issued by Sintali, the authorised EDGE certifier. The certification adheres to global sustainability standards, including GRESB, ICMA, CBI, and CDP, making it one of the world’s most credible green benchmarks.
