Advancing intelligent energy management
Over the past year, Six Senses Fort Barwara has strengthened its energy management practices with a suite of intelligent systems. Motion sensors in host areas, automated lighting controls, dimming modules, running-hours meters for heavy equipment, and natural ventilation strategies all work cohesively to reduce pressure on energy systems.
Respecting the fort’s architectural integrity, the property has adopted a Solar Water Panel System that significantly reduces daily resource use without altering the property’s heritage silhouette. The system has contributed to lowering 3 to 5% of electricity demand, reducing 5% of diesel consumption, and cutting up to 3 to 5% of daily carbon emissions.

Integrated water efficiency and resource management
Water efficiency is central to the property’s resource strategy. Through aerators, sensor-based faucets, real-time leak detection, and an advanced recycling system that reuses 65% of daily water, with nearly half nourishing the surrounding landscape, the property reduces the energy required for treatment and distribution. This integrated model amplifies overall conservation impact across daily operations.
Supporting cleaner mobility and future initiatives
To support cleaner mobility, the fort has installed a 22 kW EV charger accessible to guests and the local community. Several upcoming initiatives—including pool covers to reduce heat-pump usage and water evaporation, as well as the addition of high-efficiency heat pumps for space heating and to significantly cut diesel consumption—place the property on a strong long-term pathway for regenerative, resource-efficient operations.
