McDonald’s India (North & East) hosted Dr Jitendra Singh, Hon’ble Minister of Science and Technology, at McDonald’s ECE House, Delhi, to celebrate the pioneering CSIR-CFTRI–McDonald’s initiative introducing Multi-Millet Buns in restaurants.

Developed in partnership with the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research – Central Food Technological Research Institute (CSIR–CFTRI), this launch marks a breakthrough moment for India’s Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) industry.

A Wholesome Blend of India’s Superfood Grains

Crafted from a nourishing mix of five millets — Bajra, Ragi, Jowar, Proso, and Kodo — the Multi-Millet Bun combines taste, health, and sustainability. These locally sourced grains hail from regions including Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. This farm-to-table approach supports local agriculture and reflects McDonald’s commitment to sustainability and India’s “Shree Anna” initiative.

Empowering Indian Farmers and Consumers

Sanjeev Agrawal, Chairman, McDonald’s India (North & East), shared, “The multi-millet bun is a step toward blending taste with nutrition while supporting local farmers. This initiative, which began in Mumbai, is now being scaled across our restaurants. We look forward to more such collaborations that make a difference to both consumers and the Indian economy.”
