InterGlobe Aviation Limited, the parent company of IndiGo, has confirmed that it has received orders from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in relation to the events that led to a major operational disruption of IndiGo’s flights in early December 2025.
In a message issued by the Chairman and Members of the Board of Directors, the company stated that IndiGo’s Board and Management are committed to taking full cognizance of the DGCA’s directions and will take appropriate measures in a thoughtful and timely manner.
The statement underlined that stakeholders; particularly customers—remain a key priority for the airline as it addresses the outcomes of the disruption and the regulatory actions that followed.
In-depth internal review already underway
InterGlobe Aviation also shared that an in-depth review of IndiGo’s internal processes has been underway since the disruption. The review is focused on strengthening the robustness and resilience of the airline’s systems, with the intent of ensuring IndiGo emerges stronger after the incident.
The company referenced IndiGo’s “pristine record” of over 19 years of operations, indicating that these steps are being taken to reinforce its operational discipline and reliability.
Reaffirming IndiGo’s long-term commitment
Reiterating its broader mission, the statement added that IndiGo remains committed to serving the needs of India and its people, while continuing to support the country’s growing aviation ambitions.
The airline also reaffirmed its goal of playing a role in helping India emerge as a global aviation major by 2030, positioning this moment as an opportunity to strengthen the airline’s foundations through improved processes and long-term resilience.
With the DGCA orders now received and an internal evaluation already in motion, IndiGo’s next steps are expected to focus on implementing corrective actions and reinforcing operational continuity for passengers across its network.
