Changi Airport Group (CAG) has awarded India-headquartered airline IndiGo its Partner of the Year accolade at the Changi Airline Awards 2025 (CAA). The event, held at the Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore, honors aviation partners who have significantly contributed to the development of the Changi air hub.

The award acknowledges IndiGo’s growth at Changi Airport since it started operating Singapore services in 2011. Over the years, IndiGo has become the fifth largest foreign carrier at Changi by passenger traffic.

Key Partnership Driving Growth

As a key partner, IndiGo has played role in boosting connectivity between India and Singapore. The airline now operates 75 weekly services between the two countries, representing a 53% increase compared to pre-Covid levels. IndiGo has also seen a 64% rise in passenger traffic over the past year, carrying more than 1 million passengers through Changi Airport in 2024.

Currently, IndiGo connects nine Indian cities to Singapore: Bhubaneswar, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Kolkata, Coimbatore, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Tiruchirappalli. Singapore has become IndiGo’s third-largest international destination.

Expanding Connectivity Through Partnerships

Beyond direct services to Singapore, IndiGo has also enhanced connectivity through its codeshare partnership with Qantas, which offers seamless travel between India and Australia via Changi.

In addition, IndiGo collaborated with CAG on a joint marketing campaign to promote its new Coimbatore-Singapore route and worked alongside the Singapore Tourism Board to promote Singapore as a prime destination for Indian travelers.

IndiGo’s Commitment to Growth and Collaboration

Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, expressed the airline’s gratitude for the recognition: “We are truly humbled to receive the Partner of the Year award at the Changi Airline Awards 2025. This recognition validates our commitment to growth and our strong partnership with Changi Airport. Since 2011, we have significantly expanded, now operating over 70 weekly flights, connecting Singapore to nine cities in India. Our partnership with Changi Airport has been pivotal in boosting traffic not only between India and Singapore but also through our codeshare partnerships, offering convenient connections to our customers.”

CAG’s Milestone Achievement

Yam Kum Weng, CEO of Changi Airport Group, highlighted the major milestones for Changi Airport: “This has been a breakthrough year for Changi Airport. For the first time, passenger traffic has exceeded pre-Covid levels and reached an all-time high of 68.4 million. We welcomed seven new passenger airlines to the Changi family and added 20 new city links to Changi’s network. We are now linked to some 170 cities by about 100 airlines, with over 7,200 weekly flights, firmly establishing us as one of the world’s busiest international airports.”

Strengthening Ties Between India and Singapore

Passenger traffic between India and Singapore has surged, surpassing 2023 levels by 12% and exceeding pre-Covid levels by 15%. Today, Changi Airport is one of the most connected airports to India in Southeast Asia, underscoring the growing demand and strengthening ties between the two nations.
