Designed and conceptualized by the Designers Group, this Fairfield by Marriott is the first in the metropolis of Mumbai. The concept is a minimal and contemporary look while integrating Mumbai’s heritage and cultural and local influences.

The 206-room hotel finds indigenous touches of the city through experiments with different textures and patterns across the property. The furniture and furnishings have been parametrically installed to break up the linear design and add an intriguing character that is aesthetically pleasing. By promoting abstract paintings that reflect Mumbai’s heritage, the configuration gives visitors a brief overview of the city’s landmarks. To capture the nautical spirit of the city, the colour scheme is carefully chosen, ranging from white to blue and everything in between.

Right from the lobby, dining areas, banqueting facilities, and terrace pool area through the common areas and the rooms, Fairfield by Marriott, Mumbai is a parametrically designed celebration of all that symbolizes the city. “The artworks reflect the city of Bombay, which is a tribute to the audacious aspirations of city-lovers, a documentary of untold stories spanning centuries, and an insight into the coastal tides that have shaped modern-day Mumbai. These highlight an evolved metropolis, from libraries and parks to railway stations and bridges and everything that makes up Mumbai,” says Ar. Khozema Chitalwala, principal architect, Designers Group.

A combination of materials such as wood, metal, and marble produces a captivating panorama that was carefully chosen to ensure that it does not overwhelm the surroundings. It has been specifically designed to discover the local culture while basking in its modern interpretation at the Fairfield by Marriott. “To highlight the city’s architectural influences, beautiful artwork has been installed that is both simple and tasteful. The colour palette established by the upholstery of the furniture and textiles boasts white and blue shades. These colours are extensively recognizable due to their proximity to Mumbai’s oceans,” adds Ar. Khozema Chitalwala.

The project is designed to reflect the values and culture that Mumbai is recognised for. At Fairfield Marriott, you can luxuriate, relish, and engross yourself in the city’s mystical atmosphere.
