SLMG Beverages inaugurates greenfield Coca Cola bottling plant in Buxar

The advanced manufacturing facility in Nawanagar strengthens beverage production capacity across eastern India.

SLMG Beverages, India’s bottling partner of the Coca Cola system, inaugurated its state of the art greenfield beverage manufacturing facility in Nawanagar, Buxar. The launch marks a significant milestone in the industrial development of Bihar and strengthens beverage production capacity across eastern India. The ceremony included traditional lamp lighting, keynote speeches, and a guided tour of the advanced facility.

Several distinguished leaders were in attendance at the launch event, including Samrat Choudhary, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, as Chief Guest, along with Dr Dilip Jaiswal, Hon’ble Minister of Industries, Government of Bihar, and other senior public representatives and administrative officials.

Government leaders highlight industrial progress

Addressing the august gathering at the inauguration ceremony, Samrat Chaudhary, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar as the Chief Guest said “The industrial transformation we are witnessing in Bihar today is the result of initiatives like this state of the art ₹1000+ crore facility established by SLMG Beverages Pvt. Ltd. This will not only strengthen the state’s economy but also create new employment opportunities at the local level. Partnership between the government and industry is crucial for Bihar’s holistic development. This initiative by SLMG Beverages Pvt. Ltd. will not only boost investment but also help establish Bihar as a strong manufacturing hub in the years to come.”

Addressing all present at the inaugural, Dr Dilip Jaiswal, Hon’ble Minister of Industries, Government of Bihar said, “We remain resolute to welcoming industrial investors with a red carpet. The new plant by SLMG Beverages in Buxar, Bihar is a monumental step towards Industrial Development in the State.”

One of South Asia’s largest bottling facilities

Engineered as one of South Asia’s advanced bottling plants, the 65 acre facility has seven high speed lines with a capacity of over 5,000 bottles per minute and produces soft drinks, juices, packaged water and aseptic beverages.

In a statement issued at the inaugural, Ladhani Family, the owner of SLMG Beverages said, “This facility represents a transformative investment for both the Company and Bihar, combining world class technology, large scale capacity, and sustainable operations to generate employment and economic opportunities while strengthening the partnership with The Coca Cola Company. It is indeed a big day for Bihar and particularly Buxar as it gets a new bottling plant for Coca Cola with an investment of Rs. 1200 crore by SLMG Beverages Pvt. Ltd. The legacy whose foundation was laid down by our Founder Late Shri. S. N. Ladhani has today borne its 8th production line with a capacity of over 5000 bottles per minute. We are glad to be creating new employment opportunities for 1200 people through this manufacturing plant. Sustainability and advanced technology

Sustainability drives the plant’s design with green belt development, wastewater reuse, energy efficient systems and rice husk biofuel, supported by AI enabled quality control and automated operations.

Employment and regional development

The project is expected to create over 1,000 direct jobs and thousands of indirect opportunities across logistics, distribution and allied sectors, with a focus on local hiring and gender diversity. It has also supported infrastructure development in the surrounding industrial area, improving connectivity and power reliability.
