Accor and InterGlobe forge a new landmark partnership to redefine hospitality in India

In a groundbreaking move set to transform India’s hospitality landscape, Accor and InterGlobe, announced the strengthening of their partnership to create India’s fastest-growing hospitality enterprise, offering an unmatched network, a portfolio of brands, and distribution across all market segments. With the ambition of capturing India’s booming hospitality market and combining the strengths of global leaders across the industry, the new platform will target a network of 300 hotels under Accor brands by 2030.

A strategic alliance built on strength

This landmark partnership combines the unique strengths of each stakeholder:

  • Accor has established an impressive presence in India over the years, currently operating 71 hotels in the country with 40 more in development. These span from economy to luxury brands. Through this alliance, Accor will expand its footprint, streamline operations, and deepen its commitment to the Indian market across all segments—from economy to lifestyle and luxury.
  • InterGlobe brings its expertise in travel and hospitality, along with a proven entrepreneurial track record in aviation (IndiGo), hotels (in India and internationally), airline management, logistics, travel, and AI-enabled technology. InterGlobe is the largest stakeholder in IndiGo with over 400 aircraft serving 130+ destinations and 2200+ daily flights, carrying more than 118 million passengers in FY25.

Unleashing India’s hospitality potential

With an economy growing at an estimated 7% GDP rate and a population of 1.4 billion, India is poised to become the world’s fifth-largest outbound travel market and third-largest domestic travel market by 2027.

A rising middle class, better infrastructure, and improved air connectivity have led to a tourism boom—especially to destinations in the Middle East and Asia Pacific where Accor is already a market leader.

India’s fragmented hotel industry presents major opportunities for organized, branded players. Strengthening its long-standing partnership with InterGlobe allows Accor to unlock the market’s full potential, leading the sector’s transformation while catering to Indian travellers at home and abroad.

A bold expansion strategy

This collaboration focuses on key initiatives designed to scale rapidly:

Creating a hospitality powerhouse across segments

  • Accor and InterGlobe will combine their currently owned assets, development, and management businesses into one integrated platform.
  • The entity will exclusively drive the growth of all Accor brands in India, including luxury and lifestyle names from Ennismore.
  • Accor will lead operations and brand management while offering full access to its services and portfolio.

Exclusive partnership with Treebo

  • Treebo manages 800 hotels across 120 cities using a tech-driven model.
  • Accor and InterGlobe will jointly invest and become Treebo’s largest shareholders. Treebo will take charge of expanding the Ibis and Mercure brands in India under a master license agreement.
  • Treebo has signed ten new Mercure hotels, marking significant brand growth.
  • Accor’s portfolio will tap into Treebo’s technology to access India’s vast unbranded hotel market. The combined Accor-Treebo network will become India’s third-largest hospitality player with over 30,000 rooms.

A game-changer for Indian hospitality

With a shared vision and a strong ambition, this alliance between InterGlobe and Accor is set to dramatically expand Accor’s footprint in India, aiming for 300 hotels by 2030.

Combining Accor’s global hospitality strength, InterGlobe’s market insights, and Treebo’s innovative operations, this partnership is well-positioned to redefine India’s hospitality sector.
