  • What are the various hospitality trends that are here to stay?

Domestic travel, especially the leisure travel segment, gave wind to the industry in 2022 and we expect the momentum to continue in 2023 too. Within this sector, the demand for experiential travel has seen an exponential growth with travellers seeking unique and offbeat getaways with immersive, hyperlocal experiences, that truly help them connect to the place travelled to.

Udit Kumar, Co-founder – Brij Hotels.

The future of travel is in offbeat getaways where the travellers today are developing deep interest towards a destination. It’s a generation united by its times, like never before! Geographical boundaries have become irrelevant because of the advent of technology and various. The travellers today – are on quest to discover things on their own rather than simply buying what is being sold to them. They try to discover things for themselves. They want to explore their potential of what they see and where they are. The more they move, the more baggage they seem to shed and this is best enabled through unique experiences and offbeat travel.

We feel the very next trend to lookout for in our industry is of – Zero-Kilometre Sourcing. Boutique hotels have been implementing it since sometime now where all the products are from food ingredients,  to linens are being sourced from nearby surrounding areas of the property. We see this trend being adopted by largescale commercial hotels too. As the customer has become more conscious about supporting sustainable practices, hotels and resorts have come to realize the importance of reducing their carbon footprint and being conscious of the operations at the property.
