Conrad Pune appoints Rahul Bhagat as Director of Operations

Rahul Bhagat joined Conrad Pune in October 2015 as an Assistant Director of Food and Beverage. During the pre-opening phase he has been responsible for supervising the successful opening of 6 F&B outlets, 20000 sq. ft. Banqueting space and In Room Dining and Minibar for 310 rooms. In February 2017, he was promoted as the Director of F&B and was responsible for the overall functioning, marketing and revenues of the entire F&B division and leading a team of 107 team members. In June 2021, he was elevated as the Director of Operations based on his consistent track record and is leading the entire hotel under his leadership.

With over 16 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Rahul joined Conrad Pune after almost a decade with the Hyatt Group across different hotels in India where he started as a Corporate Leadership Trainee in 2006.

In his current profile, Bhagat is responsible for the seamless functioning of the entire hotel and employees in sync with the international Hilton brand standards while ensuring maximum client satisfaction. He also assists in the preparation and execution of the Annual Hotel Business Plan and the marketing strategies for the overall hotel. He is personally involved in the recruitment, training and motivation of the entire hotel team.

During the pandemic, he established the entire COVID protocols for Conrad Pune as per the Hilton CleanStay guidelines. Currently he is focused to launch the Rooftop restaurant at Conrad Pune, unlike what the city of Pune has seen and an additional 41 rooms to the total inventory, making Conrad Pune a 351 room property.

Having completed his B.Sc. in Hospitality & Hotel Administration from Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition, Mumbai (2003 – 2006), he was Awarded “Excellent in Performance during the Industrial Exposure Training “at The Taj Mahal Palace & Tower, Mumbai. Apart from being the College President, he was awarded the Most Dedicated Student Award and also topped in F&B for the final year exams. He was an active member of the Employee training modules at Hyattand now Hilton and is a certified Skills and Groups Trainer. He is also been a multiple Times Food Guide Award Winner at the Conrad Pune and at Grand Hyatt Goa. Koji, our Pan Asian Fine dine was ranked #34 amongst the Top 50 restaurants in the country by Conde Nast and the only one to feature in the list from Pune.

Under his leadership, Conrad Pune was awarded the Best F&B Department in the entire APAC Division for Hilton Hotels which has more than 450 hotels.

In times of leisure, Rahul enjoys keeping abreast with the developments in the International hotel scene and is passionate about catching up with the latest movies, videogames and cricket.
