Luxury, elegance, and memorable experiences; these are the hallmarks of great hospitality. For the General Manager of Udaipur Marriott Hotel, hospitality is far more than running a hotel; it’s the art of crafting moments that stay with guests long after they leave. From witnessing the transformative power of thoughtful service during his own travels to leading one of India’s most coveted luxury properties, his journey is a testament to passion, vision, and dedication.
In this candid conversation, he opens up about what drew him to the industry, his defining professional milestones, and the unique experiences that make Udaipur Marriott a destination in its own right.
What sparked your interest in hospitality? Was there a defining moment or influence that drew you to the industry?
Hospitality, to me, is the art of creating moments that linger long after a guest departs. My interest was sparked early in life through travel experiences where I witnessed how thoughtful service could transform an ordinary stay into a cherished memory. That realisation—that people remember how you made them feel—drew me to this industry and continues to inspire me every day.
What has been your most memorable professional milestone so far, and why?
One of my proudest milestones was being entrusted with leading the Udaipur Marriott Hotel. Udaipur is not only a global destination but also a highly competitive hospitality market. Being chosen to helm such a property reflects both the trust of the brand and the opportunity to contribute to the city’s evolving luxury landscape. It represents the culmination of years of experience, yet feels like a fresh beginning.
What does the debut of Marriott Hotels in Udaipur represent for the brand and the city’s hospitality scene?
The debut of Marriott Hotels in Udaipur is a powerful synergy of brand and destination. For Marriott, it strengthens our presence in India’s most sought-after leisure and wedding destination. For Udaipur, it means global exposure, a new benchmark in guest experiences, and an infusion of Marriott’s global standards of excellence with local Rajasthani warmth. It’s a milestone that raises the city’s profile on the international map.
Udaipur is globally synonymous with destination weddings. How is the property designed to meet this demand?
Our property is thoughtfully designed for celebrations of scale and elegance. Encompassing grand ballrooms with modern technology, every space is created to transform into a dream wedding venue. We’ve curated specialised wedding services—from personalised menus by our chefs to immersive décor concepts—ensuring that each celebration is as unique as the bridal couple we host. Udaipur Marriott is where regal tradition meets contemporary luxury.
What role do you see Udaipur Marriott playing in India’s growing MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) segment?
We are positioning Udaipur Marriott as a hub where business meets leisure. With versatile event spaces, advanced conferencing technology, and curated team-building experiences, we cater to India’s rapidly growing MICE demand. Our location allows delegates to balance work with leisure, creating an environment where meetings become memorable experiences. We see ourselves as partners in driving both productivity and creativity for our corporate guests.
What unique dining or leisure experiences can guests look forward to? Any signature concepts you’re particularly proud of?
Our dining experiences blend global flavours with the rich heritage of Rajasthan. Guests can savour regionally inspired delicacies curated with local ingredients or indulge in global cuisines reimagined by our culinary team. A signature experience—dining under the stars—is an intimate yet grand celebration of Udaipur’s charm. Beyond dining, curated wellness rituals at our spa and immersive cultural evenings set us apart.
As the General Manager, what is your personal vision for Udaipur Marriott Hotel in the next five years?
My vision is to establish Udaipur Marriott as the benchmark of experiential luxury in Rajasthan. In the next five years, we aim to not only lead in weddings and MICE but also create a strong footprint in sustainable hospitality—through eco-conscious initiatives, community partnerships, and authentic cultural programming. I want our hotel to be synonymous with excellence, innovation, and responsibility.
How would you describe your leadership style, and what values do you hope to instill in your team here?
I believe in democratic, people-first leadership. My approach is to empower, guide, and inspire rather than instruct. I encourage my team to embrace empathy, innovation, and accountability. Values I hope to instill are respect, adaptability, and a guest-first mindset. When my team feels valued and motivated, it naturally reflects in the guest experience we deliver.
