The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts announces the reimagining of its iconic restaurant, Mohan Mahal, into Jamavar – its signature Indian fine-dining concept – at The Leela Palace Jaipur.

Long celebrated as a jewel in Jaipur’s dining landscape, Mohan Mahal now embarks on a new chapter as Jamavar, carrying forward its cherished legacy while ushering in a refined expression of royal gastronomy in Rajasthan.

A legacy of Indian fine dining

As one of The Leela’s most acclaimed culinary legacies, Jamavar has established itself as a benchmark in Indian fine dining across The Leela Palace New Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. Its arrival in Jaipur marks a milestone for the brand, reflecting The Leela’s commitment to culinary excellence rooted in authenticity, artistry, and the timeless ethos of True Indian Luxury.

Inspired by Kashmir’s timeless craftsmanship

Inspired by the sixteenth-century Jamavar shawls of Kashmir, the restaurant reflects craftsmanship and elegance in both its cuisine and design. The transformation retains Mohan Mahal’s architectural splendour—featuring over 3,50,000 hand-cut Thikri mirrors and 18-carat gold-leaf detailing—while introducing a renewed identity that blends heritage with contemporary finesse. Each evening, live instrumental performances evoke the grandeur of Rajasthan’s royal courts.

A dining ritual of grace and tradition

Enhancing the gastronomic journey, Jamavar Jaipur introduces a service ritual inspired by 16th-century royal dining traditions, where each experience begins with a symbolic handwash—a gesture once reserved for nobility before grand feasts. This moment of stillness and reverence sets the tone for the meal, blending timeless hospitality with modern gastronomy.

Further enriching the experience, the restaurant is helmed by an all-women service team, embodying The Leela’s commitment to gracious hospitality and gender diversity. A narrative-driven beverage programme complements the cuisine, uniting heritage recipes with contemporary mixology and a refined selection of wines, cocktails, and spirits.

A tribute to legacy and vision

“Mohan Mahal has always been a cherished icon, not only for The Leela but also for Jaipur’s dining landscape. Its transformation into Jamavar is both a tribute to its legacy and a continuation of our vision to set new benchmarks in Indian fine dining. With this, we extend the Jamavar legacy to Rajasthan, curating an experience where every dish and every detail embodies palace-worthy refinement and the soul of True Indian Luxury,” said Anoop Pandey, Vice President & General Manager, The Leela Palace Jaipur.
